About Sarah

Proven Leadership.
Local Commitment.
Sarah Burger is a lifelong Saratoga Springs resident, practicing attorney, small business owner, and longtime advocate for justice and community. She has spent her career fighting for working families, civil rights, and government that works for everyone. As your next County Supervisor, she will continue advocating for you to improve your quality of life, keep taxes low and ensure the City of Saratoga Springs receives its fair share.
Legal & Community Roots
Sarah’s family still resides on her family’s old farm which they have owned since the late 19th century.
She has been in private practice her entire career and in 2018 founded her own law firm, Burger Law Group PLLC, with offices in Saratoga Springs, New York and in Boston, Massachusetts where she successfully represents everyday people in labor and employment law matters, including cases involving unpaid wages, discrimination, and harassment. She also counsels several small businesses, including in the hospitality and equine industry. Her legal and lobbying work reflects her values: fairness, accountability, and standing up for those who aren’t being heard.

A Record of Leadership
In her career, Sarah has built coalitions, solved problems, and helped bring new voices to the table. She believes government should reflect the people it serves — and that local leadership should be transparent, proactive, and ready to listen.
Sarah brings both legal, legislative and political experience to the table. She played a key role in drafting and passing landmark amendments to New York State’s human rights law in 2019 and continues to lobby for labor rights and equine industry legislation — including securing the continuation of vital revenue that benefits Saratoga Springs.
She served as Chair of the Saratoga Springs Democratic Committee from 2019 to 2021, helping to lead the party to key wins, and currently sits on the executive committee of the New York State Democratic Committee, representing eleven (11) upstate counties.
She also served as the Vice President of the National Employment Lawyers Association, New York Chapter, a bar association with over three-hundred members focused on professional development and promoting workplace rights.

Why She’s Running for Office
Sarah is running for County Supervisor because she believes with her skills and experience we can open up the decision-making process, strengthen social services, and invest in long-term solutions like clean energy and sustainable infrastructure with the goal to improve quality of life, keep taxes low and ensure Saratoga Springs gets its fair share.
